San Juan Snorkel is a booking agency that helps fill unfilled spaces on local snorkeling tours in San Juan, Puerto Rico. We partner with licensed tour operators who have special government permission to guide visitors in the protected marine sanctuary at Playita del Condado. These tours give you the only opportunity in Puerto Rico to see manatees and sea turtles up close. While you explore, you may also encounter spotted eagle rays, starfish, octopuses, and colorful reef fish. We work with operators who respect marine life by observing animals naturally. We do not allow touching, feeding, or disturbing them. Our goal is to help guests appreciate their beauty in their own space while also supporting eco-friendly and sustainable practices.
Our tours last between 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the water currents and how comfortable the group is swimming. Tours start every two hours: 10 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM, and 4 PM. Please arrive 10 minutes early. If you're more than 10 minutes late, you'll be moved to the next available tour. (*Check our terms and conditions below)
We snorkel in a protected marine sanctuary, which is home to wild marine animals. These animals are free to roam and are not kept in cages or pens. We have special permission from the government to operate here. If you miss seeing your favorite animal, you can join the tour again for free (but refunds are not available). Please remember, this is not a zoo—it's a safe space where marine life can live peacefully, and we share the space with them. Our rating is based on real experiences: we typically see all the animals about 8 to 9 times out of 10 tours.
Currently, this tour is only available in English. This is a SWIMMERS ONLY tour. There is NO boat—I'm not sure why some people think there is one, but there isn’t! So, just to clear up any confusion, we’re talking about a boat-free experience.
Guests who arrive more than 10 minutes late will be moved to the next available tour. However, if a guest is late a second time, they will forfeit 100% of their payment, with no option for rescheduling.
No refunds will be issued for late arrivals or no-shows under any circumstances. Please plan accordingly to ensure a smooth experience.
Refunds and cancellations are only issued for unsafe conditions. Situations such as lightning, extreme currents, or waves over 8 feet will result in a 100% refund, and when possible, we offer a discounted rescheduling option.
However, undesirable weather conditions like cloudy skies, rain, or low visibility do not qualify for a refund. The tour will proceed as scheduled unless conditions become hazardous.
Weather-related cancellations are determined at our discretion, as multiple factors are taken into account before making a decision.

Wildlife encounters are a natural part of our tours. However, if a guest happens to miss seeing their favorite animal, we offer a free return visit to try again. While sightings are frequent, nature is unpredictable, and we want every guest to have the best experience possible.
This tour is strictly for swimmers only. Guests who cannot swim should not book this experience. However, they are welcome to practice swimming during their scheduled tour on their own.

"Had an amazing time on the tour! My wife and I were on the beach and happened to see the sign for snorkeling tours. We up and Sal offered us a discount to go with him on the last tour of the day. He was super professional, extremely knowledgeable and made the entire experience very safe and fun! We saw an abundance of creatures on the tour including clown fish, sea urchins and even a manatee! Not only did we get to snorkel and see the water, but he also provided us with some great information on local districts in San Juan including where to eat. It was well worth the admission price, especially for someone on vacation. Definitely recommend you check it out."
“Exactly what we were looking for in a quick snorkel trip! Sal was very informative and made sure we were all comfortable in the beginning and throughout the trip. He took time to show us all about the equipment. We saw two huge manatees, a stingray, a beautiful coral reef, barracudas, sea urchins, starfish and plenty of colorful fish! He even takes a GoPro with him to record the trip and makes a video that is included! We could just focus on the snorkeling and watching the wildlife without having to worry about recording our adventure. His equipment is thoroughly cleaned after each use. He even took time to teach us about the sea life we were witnessing! I will definitely be coming back here when I return to PR!"

San Juan is a busy city with a mix of history, music, food, and beaches. Just minutes away from the hotels and restaurants in Condado, you will find Playita del Condado. It is a small, calm beach with clear blue water.
This is the place where we snorkel. The water here is safe and easy to swim in, even when the ocean outside has waves. The area is home to manatees, sea turtles, rays, and many reef fish. These animals are free and not kept in cages. They swim naturally in the lagoon, which makes each tour special.
Yes. This tour is only for swimmers. We start right from the beach, and there is no boat. You should feel safe swimming in the ocean for about an hour.
Most guests see manatees and sea turtles. You may also see rays, starfish, octopuses, and many types of fish. Since the animals are wild, each tour is a little different, but we see them almost every day.
We give you a snorkel mask, fins, and a life vest if you need one. A guide will stay with you the whole time to keep you safe and show you where to look. If you don’t see your favorite animal, you can come back again on another tour for free.
The tour lasts about one to one and a half hours. We run tours at 10 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM, and 4 PM. Please come 10 minutes early so you are ready to start on time.
You must be at least 10 years old, able to swim, and feel comfortable in the water.
We meet at Playita del Condado, next to the Condado Bridge. It is close to many hotels, so you can walk or ride a scooter. If you drive, parking is available at nearby hotels and lots for a fee.
